Welcome
We are an organisation which supports vulnerable young adults and adults at risk of social exclusion. We help transform lives through our services by taking a holistic approach and having a focus on the core values of being non-judgmental and providing care and empathy. Young adults, who may or may not be care experienced, can also be placed with Step4ward 16+ transition service when they are at the stage where it is assessed that they need to develop independence skills and become increasingly self-reliant.
Other reasons a young adult maybe placed with the service 16+ transition is:
• Family and Placement breakdown: this includes birth and step/adoptive families, foster placements and other residential placements.
• Young people with particular behaviour and/or emotional difficulties that either make it very difficult or they choose not to live within a family setting at this time.
• Young people who have experienced homelessness and are deemed in need of support.
• Unaccompanied Asylum seekers (UASC)
Independent Living is controlling and directing life the right way, exercising the greatest degree of choice about where to live, with whom to live and how to live. We are here to direct all Young People throughout their way.
